Introduction
My name is Chris Carlisle, and I am in the Master's program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program summer 2013 and hope to graduate in May, 2015. I graduated from Furman University in 1988 with a Bachelor’s degree in History. School teaching is my second career. I spent 17 years as a golf professional working as both as a coach and a competitive player. I began teaching middle school in 2010. I currently teach Social Studies and Literacy in 6th grade at Lakeside Middle School in Cumming, Georgia. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Master's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard/element where it is embedded.
The defining characteristic of this master’s program is classroom technology integration. My learning experiences allowed me to develop and apply current research in my own classroom, and to coach my colleagues to do the same. These experiences have given me the ability to work as a technology coach and facilitator in K-12 education.
